The HST Viewer has the capability to create candlestick charts using the price data stored in the .hst file, enabling data analysis before importing it into the MT platform.



The HST file format in MT serves as a storage method for historical price data associated with various financial instruments. These files play a critical role in charting functionalities within the MT platform. As historical data is downloaded or imported into MT, it is archived within HST files, with each file representing a specific time frame, such as 1-minute, 5-minute, or 1-hour intervals. These files include historical price bars, including data points like opening, high, low, closing prices, and volume.

The HST History viewer is designed to make it easy to view and analyze .hst files. This software lets you check both the headers and tick data, and it also allows you to create a candlestick chart and visualize the data. Additionally, you can save the data in different file formats like CSV and XLS.

It's not limited by the software. It depends on your computer's configuration. If your computer's performance is not sufficient to handle the .hst data, it may take a long time or even crash.
